I quite like the idea of using a word that is either:
* Related to music
* Onomatopoeic
*Instantly recognizable as a music related magazine
So, I have decided that I will look into each of these categories and choose a word that I like out of them all
Onomatopoeic:
Onomatopoeic words can instantly attract someones attention. They are normally quite short, and most of them have only one syllable. Examples that I like are:
* Bang
* Pop
* Buzz
* Shuffle
* Wham
* Whoop
* Zap
Music Related Words
I like these words because it has a subtle hint of the genre of magazine, without being to obvious about it.
Examples:
* Tune
* Note
* Crescendo
* Rhythm
* Ascending
Instantly recognizable as a music magazine:
All of the words above could be instantly related back to the music genre. This is what I am aiming for with my magazine, because then it means that the audience can straight away see that it is the genre of magazine they are looking for. To carry on with this, the images and text on the front cover, especially in the masthead on the top are specific to the music genre.
My Decision:
I have looked at all of the words above, as well as a couple more. Out of all of them, I really like the idea of 'Crescendo'. I like that this word doesn't sound like a music magazine title, or a musical word, but it links back to it. I also really like the way this word sounds. However, I am not too sure if the word is a bit too complex to fit into a magazine, but I will have an attempt at making some mastheads, and making a logo from it and see how it goes.
